Dear Friends and Family,
On Saturday September 16th, I will be running 5K for the RBC Run for the Kids supporting youth mental health through the Family Navigation Project at Sunnybrook.
Mental health is a serious issue affecting over two million Canadians, and it is estimated that only one in five kids in need of help currently gets the support they need – often because they don't know where to turn. Most of us, myself included, know of at least person who has been adversely affected by mental health issues and those of us who have witnessed its effects firsthand know what a terrible disease it is – one that can truly ruin lives and tear families apart. Fortunately, mental illness can be overcome with proper resources, support and counselling, and it is the goal of Sunnybrook's Family Navigation Project to combat this serious issue by helping Canadian youth navigate the complex mental health system.
As the proud son and nephew of two wonderful Sunnybrook doctors, I see the dedication that its employees have for their professions on a daily basis and I know that the funds raised in support of the Family Navigation Project will be put to good use.
This is a cause I truly believe in and am proud to support. I would greatly appreciate any support and generosity you are willing to provide.
Thank you very much in advance for your support!
PS – If you’re interested in running with us on September 16th, please feel free to join our team! We would be honored to have you run with us!
