You can help make a difference for youth struggling with mental illness. By sponsoring my run, you are helping youth find the right mental health support they need, when they need it most.
On September 16th, I will run 15k in the 2017 RBC Race for the Kids.
Me, run? Yes! 15k will be a challenge but nothing short of the daily struggles many Canadian youth endure daily.
Mental health and reducing its stigma is important to me. This race supports young people, as many as two million in Canada, who are struggling with issues such as an anxiety disorder, bipolar disorder, depression or addiction; yet only one in five will get specialized treatment. This is largely because families don’t know where to turn to find the services their children need.
The donations generated by the race will support the critical work of the Family Navigation Project at Sunnybrook. Since they opened in 2014 they have served over 1,820 families, 2,000 youth and almost 4,900 family members. This non-profit program helps Canadian youth struggling with mental health and addiction issues.
Thank you so much!
