Please support me in the RBC Race for the Kids Toronto. In doing so you are supporting youth mental health.
As a psychiatrist and the Chief of Psychiatry at Sunnybrook, the Family Navigation Project (FNP) is very close to my heart!
They do amazing work:
Since they opened in early 2014 the FNP have served over 5,000 youth and family members.
The FNP, on average screens 60 new calls and referrals each month from new families in the GTA who are desperately looking for the right services for themselves or their family (and they don't even advertise). More than 90% of the clients served are very satisfied with the assistance they received.
As many as two million young people in Canada are struggling with mental health issues such as an anxiety disorder, bipolar disorder, depression or addiction; yet only one in five will get specialized treatment. This is largely because families don’t know where to turn to find the services their children need.
By sponsoring my run, you are helping youth find the right mental health support they need, when they need it most.
Please make a generous donation today and help me to reach my fundraising goal!
