I’m participating in the sixth annual RBC Race for the Kids Toronto in support of the Family Navigation Project (FNP).
Please consider donating whatever you are able to this amazing program (which I happen to work for!) which helps young people and their families get the mental health help they need.
As many as 1.2 million young people in Canada are struggling with mental health issues; yet only 1 in 5 will get specialized treatment. Coming to this sector from other sectors, I realize that reducing barriers to care still has a long way to go for patients with mental health struggles. But the good news, is that the Family Navigation Project (FNP) is making a big difference in the lives of families. Since 2013, FNP has helped over 3,000 youth find the treatment and resources they need to get better. Time and time again we hear from families of youth who indicate that our program was a lifeline for them, a beacon of light in the moments of despair and confusion, when they didn't know where else to go or what to do or how to get their child the help they need. We all need help sometimes, and our program knows that when a youth or young adult is not well in the family, it can impact the entire family.
Please consider sponsoring me in my 5K race, which our entire family will participate in this Saturday. Whether it's $5, $100 or $500...every dollar makes a difference. Your donation goes entirely to our program, which was started by parents, and wholly funded by philanthropy. Or better yet, please join me at the Race this Saturday at Mel Lastman Square. By sponsoring my run, you are helping youth find right mental health support they need, when they need it most.
Please make a donation today and help me to reach my fundraising goal!
