Once again, as mid-summer approaches preparations begin for this year's Race for the Kids on Saturday September 17, I'm reaching out to friends and family to help support this great cause.
This year the Race will return to an in-person event, however the organizers have very kindly retained the virtual participation option from the last two years, which will allow me to retain my unbroken participation streak in the Race since 2012 because, on race day, I will be in Ireland!
So this year I am committing to run a minimum of 10k in and around the beautiful city of Dublin. Photographic evidence will be provided post-race, but I will neither admit nor deny that the finish line might be here: The Temple Bar Pub Dublin Ireland
In keeping with the "Emerald Isles" theme, I am hoping to elicit some "green" contributions towards a "pot o' gold" to help support of the Family Navigation Project at Sunnybrook at Sunnybrook. Any and all support is deeply appreciated!
Addressing youth mental health appropriately has always been a challenge, but the social isolation and financial hardship created by the pandemic over the last two years have added to the stress on young people suffering mental health issues and their families.
Today as many as 1.2 million Canadian youth struggle with mental illness. Statistically that means it is highly likely that there is someone in your circle who’s directly impacted.
Your donation helps ensure that young people and their families find the mental health care services they need.
Thank you,
-Jim-
