As a person with my own mental health diagnoses, and my oldest (now my son, Kye) being diagnosed with depression earlier this year, I know how important it is to get the help you need, as quickly as possible. This real world experience is what drives me to participate in Race for the Kids year after year.
Did you know as many as 1.2 Canadian youth are struggling with mental illness? 4 out of 5 of these young people aren’t receiving the care they need. These statistics reveal that there’s possibly someone you know who’s living in pain. This is my 6th year raising money for the Family Navigation Project (FNP) at Sunnybrook. It's an innovative program that connects young people struggling with mental illness and addiction to get the help they desperately need. Since the pandemic, the number of youth reaching out to the FNP has doubled.
The Family Navigation project is 100% funded by donations from caring people like you!
Your donation helps ensure that young people and their families find the mental health care services they need. We all benefit when we help young people and your donation supports a life-changing program that allows youth in our community to get help for mental illness so they can reach their potential.
Thank you so much for your support of the Family Navigation Project and RBC Race for the Kids!
